Applied Creativity

IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE THAI KING

The King of Thailand made a one-month trip all around Norway in 1907, and it was well documented by the King himself. In 2019 Iver Holter-Andersen used the narrative of this epic trip to create successful travel marketing in the Thai market, with full support from the Royal Thai Embassy in Oslo.

THE ASIA INTRODUCTION OF UNDER -

the underwater restaurant

On Norway’s South Coast, the world’s only Michelin Star underwater restaurant was opened in April 2019.

Iver Holter-Andersen was responsible for organizing creative events in Tokyo, Seoul and Bangkok in 2018, to introduce this amazing experience to the hi-end travel industry in these important markets.

Events were set-up at the Royal Norwegian Embassies and other selected venues.

CHARTER FUND NORTHERN NORWAY

The scheme, was designed to reduce the risk for international tour operators launching inbound charter flights to Norway’s Northern Lights Airports.

This was successfully introduced to the European travel trade in 2013, and has created almost 200 charter flights, bringing thousands of tourists into the tourist trade of Northern Norway.

The idea of the scheme was risk-reduction, meaning that when flights sold well, no support from the program was paid out. The Northern Norway Tourist board has given Iver Holter-Andersen full credit for the ingenuity of this scheme.

NORTHERN LIGHTS AIRPORT

Norway’s state-owned airport group Avinor, operates 25 airports north of the Arctic Circle, of which nine can accommodate aircraft in the Boeing 737 category, or bigger. To capitalize on the international demand for Northern Lights tourism, and enhance the interest for the smaller destinations, the brand Northern Lights Airports for these airports was introduced in 2010. The concept and brand creation was credited to Iver Holter-Andersen.

SNOWMAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

The branding of this remote airport in Arctic Norway, was presented to the international aviation community by Iver Holter-Andersen at the World Routes conference in Kuala Lumpur in October 2008. This marketing activity was done with a minimum of resources, yet it achieved major attention at the event.

MOOSE SIGNS - FOR SOUVENIRS

Today you will find a number of souvenir objects sold in the Nordic countries, such as caps, scarfs, t-shirts, socks, bottle openers, postcards, cups, fridge magnets and others – featuring a Moose Warning sign.

This idea was originally conceived by Iver Holter-Andersen I 1988, – as documented in this newspaper clipping.
